The learner voice
Creating opportunities for learners to provide meaningful feedback is a fundamental part of a learner involvement strategy. It helps to shape the services offered to learners and conveys powerful messages about inclusion.
In the context of the expert learner, learner voice activities are more specifically focused on involving learners in evaluating their experiences of learning and in providing feedback on what works for them. Involving learners in this way helps to develop their awareness of how they learn best and of what they need to do in order to achieve their goals.
Listening to learners helps teachers to modify their teaching and learning strategies to meet the expectations and needs of their learners.
The resources in this area can stimulate discussion and ideas about how to increase learner involvement and to raise the game about ‘learning to learn’.
