Learner activities

Learner activities can help learners recognise how gender and racial stereotyping and attitudes towards disability can influence the choices we make about education, training and work.

Learners can be encouraged to widen their horizons and aspirations when they understand that career and learning opportunities are accessible and not bound by stereotype or tradition.

The activities in these resources can help stimulate discussion – providing teachers with a vehicle to explore how their learners perceive equality and diversity. They can also provide an effective background to preparing learners for work experience so that they understand their rights and responsibilities.
